Krystal R&R back home in preparation for London

// June 19th, 2012 // No Comments » // Laser

Krystal is now back in Australia after a very successful 3months overseas.

The past three months have flown by. The goal of the trip was to develop my skills and to perform a baseline qualification for Olympic selection. Overall I finished with a 5th ISAF Grade One Palma, 7th ISAF Grade One Hyeres, 1st ISAF Grade One Holland, 8th Sail for Gold Olympic Venue.

I am happy with my progress over the past block and I am looking forward to the jumps I can make leading into London. I am now taking some time out to recharge the batteries before I head up to Sydney and Brisbane for a small camp before heading back to the UK for a three week training camp with my training partner James Burman and Laura Baldwin my coach.

Cant wait to get out on the water in 43 days time ;) follow me on twitter for daily updates @krystalsailing

Boltenhagen

// May 9th, 2012 // No Comments » // Regattas

We have arrived into Boltenhagen, Germany in preparation for the Worlds that begin in a weeks time. The full rig boys are currently racing in the tricky light conditions. The venus is a cute little town right up the top of Northern Germany which means we are dealing with some cold conditions. On Day one when we were unloading the boats & launching the coach boat it was 7degrees outside. We also found out that this resort is actually for cross country skiing as it is completely flat & freezing cold.

Our accommodation is perfect and it definitely is made for the cold conditions as it is very cosy inside with a inside fire. We will be toasting marshmallows later on in the week for sure.  I have began training with Sara Winther of NZL and Tulla from FIN. Should be a good week with lots of fast tracking for the Games.

It is now only 80days to go before the Olympics begin so time is flying.

On our way from Hyeres we stopped in Lake Garda for two days where I was able to go windsurfing and enjoy some gelati & pizza. This part of our trip was cut a bit short as I ended up in Hospital for a few days after the regatta, I had many tests from the doctors in France and they have given me the all clear.

Looking forward to getting time in the gym again and on the water. Wish me luck and if you want to follow the results the link is below.
